Wow.

I'm desperately attempting to limit my spending in order to save for a vacation in the summer, which is no fun. Though I had to make one last purchase with my birthday money: My favourite perfume in the whole world! I got it for the first time last summer, and just fell in love with it. I must admit that since I finished that bottle, I ditched this perfume in favour of something less expensive, but I've decided I love this enought to be worth paying a little (or a lot) extra. Per my decision to reduce spending, I have decided to compile a 'wish list' filled with things I wish I could just go out and buy right now!:
Polka-dot dress and hair slides - http://www.dollydagger.co.uk/, yellow shoes - New Look, scarf - Dorothy Perkins, Orange shoes - Topshop, Nikon Lense - Jessops, Orange embellished dress - Monsoon, Sandals - Monsoon, Berry clutch bag - French Connection.

New 'do

Many apologies for the neglect over the last week, I've been a little busy with studying and what not. I will try and get into the habit of posting daily, because I do have inspiration coming at me all the time. I'm just stopping by to check in, and post a picture of my new hair! It's so short it scares me, because I've never had it this short before. But it was definitely time for a change and I'm happy with it. Hope all is well with everyone, and I promise you all a proper post later today.
P.S. I know it's an awful picture, because it was taken with my phone in a hurry and I apologise for that. Hopefully I'll have a better one to post later this week.

We've got issues.

Yesterday, I turned 19 (wow it feels a little weird to say it) and I had a really nice day. It was a fairly quiet birthday, I just had some friends round for dinner but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Presents included some of my favourite Soap & Glory products: I must say, I totally adore them. I was first introduced to the products at Christmas when I was given a gift set, and I've been hooked on them ever since. I can't recommend them enough. I also got 'Ghost for Women' perfume from a friend:

Although it isn't one that I would ordinarily buy, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I really like it. When it comes to perfumes, I can be a little fussy but I really love this one. My mum also got me many clothes for my birthday, and I expect I'll post some pictures in due course. Among a ton of birthday cards, my favourite had to be this one:
It reads 'A girl can never have too many pairs of shoes!'. Well I, for one, couldn't agree more ;) Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to make the most of the sunshine while it's here. Have a good day, everyone.

Muy muy naranja.

Today I did a little shopping, seeing as I finally have some time free from essaying. I also went to lunch with my mum, as my birthday is tomorrow. I find myself feeling a bit apprehensive about turning nineteen... I'm not sure why, I just feel like eighteen has been my favourite age yet and I'm expecting it to go downhill from here. Though the likelihood is I'm just being silly :) Fashion-wise, I'm currently going through an 'all-things-orange' phase, partly because I find myself seeing it everywhere and partly because it's not a colour that I've ever had any great tendency to wear. It's all about trying something new! So I bought these earrings the other day. It was mostly the colour that attracted me to them, but I love the style and the simplicity of them. I
tend to buy either overly simple studs or more extravagant earrings, so I'm pleased with these inbetweeners. I admit I'm having trouble shaking off my necessity for matching articles, so today I bought orange nail polish to feed my obsession. This picture isn't a totally accurate portrayal of the colour, but its Rimmel LYCRA Pro (440-Orange Bliss) for anyone who is interested. I'm loving it, it makes me feel so springlike :)
While I'm on the subject of fashion, I just have to post a picture of the shoes I bought the other day. I just adore them so much:

I feel like the picture doesn't do them justice at all, but there you have it. I came across them while browsing in New Look the other day. I was totally smitten with them; everything from the colour to the detailing, so I just had to have them. I imagine they aren't everyone's cup of tea but I'm loving flat sandals at the moment and lucky for me it seems like they're everywhere. Hopefully the weather stays nice enough so that I can wear them!
To conclude this long, ramblesome post I want to show you my new plant :D I noticed that ASDA was selling Peace Lillies today and they were relatively inexpensive so I thought I would buy one. I think my bedroom could do with a plant to cheer it up a little, and this one is pretty and simplistic. I hear they are easy to care for which is a super plus considering my track record with keeping plants alive. I'm naming her Janine:

So serene. Just for the sake of posting something a little bit different... -x-

Come what may.

First ever post to my first ever blog. Who wants to say something first? ;)
Well, my name is Laura and I'm an 18 year old psychology student from Scotland. I've always liked writing, and I'm hooked on several other blogs so I finally felt compelled to start one of my own. As the title suggests, I plan just to pour a little bit of everything into this rather than sticking to a particular theme. I'm an enthusiastic (though somewhat amateurish) photographer, so my photographs and other photography related matters will most likely play a substantial role along the way. Among my other many interests are fashion, music, cooking, jewellery and jewellery making, sociology, reading, films and languages so I expect that things of this nature will also put in an appearance at one point or another. So here goes... :)
